Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of exploring the role of social media in representing and controlling the political behavior of managers of government organizations in Yazd city. To achieve this goal, the authors of the article used qualitative methodology and a grounded theory approach. The target population was the employees and managers of government offices in Yazd city, of whom 17 were selected for in-depth interviews through theoretical and purposeful sampling. The sampling process in this study continued until the information saturation stage, so that new interviews did not have an impact on advancing the final theory. The data collected in this study were analyzed using three stages of open, axial, and selective coding, and the results were presented in the form of 12 main categories and 1 final category along with a paradigmatic model and the storyline. The findings indicate that "media deterrence of political behavior" as a central phenomenon is created by a set of factors such as popular authoritarian supervision, transparency of organizational corruption, media empowerment, representation of financial corruption, two-way struggle with political behavior, and online platform for combating political behavior, along with a set of contextual and intervening factors. The results also showed that creating media deterrence in political behavior requires the use of two main strategies, including criticism of the organization's power groups and rejection of political behavior with linguistic participation.
