Abstract
Introduction: The Fundamental Transformation of Education and Training Document, approved in 2011, is the most important policy-making document of Iran’s education and training system. This document defines the main goals of education and outlines its future prospects. However, the failure to effectively implement the Fundamental Transformation Document of Education and Training is still regarded as a major challenge in the education system, and weaknesses in its implementation programs have been widely criticized. In this context, the purpose of this research is to answer the following question: What is the future of the Fundamental Transformation Document of Education and Training?
Method:  Drawing on the sociology of knowledge and using a documentary research approach, this study conceptualizes the Fundamental Transformation of Education and Training Document as a form of knowledge. Employing the method of Causal Layered Analysis (CLA), the document is analyzed across four levels of knowledge: litany, social system, discourse and worldview, and myth.
findings The findings indicate that the Fundamental Transformation of Education and Training Document is shaped by societal conditions and is also utilized within the process of political activities. Consequently, its future can be understood and identified through the struggles and interactions among different forms of existing knowledge within society.
Conclusion:  In the interaction between the knowledge embedded in the Fundamental Transformation of Education and Training Document and other prevailing forms of educational knowledge, three possible scenarios can be identified: conflict and struggle; consensus among different forms of knowledge to redefine the document’s concepts; or agreement on the development of a new document. Each of these scenarios offers a distinct perspective on the future of the Fundamental Transformation of Education and Training Document.
