Abstract
One of the most important components of the strategic management process is strategic control. Generally, strategic control encompasses the oversight of all components of an organization at both the mental and conceptual levels. The issue of strategic control has received less research attention compared to other components of the strategic management process, such as formulation and implementation, particularly in the context of multidisciplinary organizations. The purpose of the current research is to design a strategic control system for cultural and artistic organizations and to evaluate the importance and performance of this system within the Soureh Cinema Organization. This research employs a qualitative approach and a case study strategy. To identify effective control mechanisms for the successful advancement of the organization's strategies, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 11 experts familiar with the cultural industry and the management of multidisciplinary organizations, using the snowball sampling method. The researchers reached theoretical saturation after conducting the ninth interview; however, to ensure the reliability of the results, interviews continued until the eleventh participant. Based on thematic analysis using MAXQDA software, 71 control mechanisms were identified, and a thematic network was drawn using the CIPP evaluation model. Subsequently, a comprehensive model of strategic control was designed for the Soureh Cinema Organization. This model comprises five main components: substrate control, input control, process control, output control, and feedback control. Finally, all components of this system were categorized into three control levels: headquarters level, intra-organizational level, and inter-organizational level.
